Sony a7CA lot of camera features and, for developers, significant limitations start in the first concept. These will never account for all branches of technology development. Sony was the same way, after buying the Minolta Camera division (Sony A bayonet) and then developing the NEX system (Sony E bayonet). The NEX used an APS-C image sensor with a 1.5x crop, when the market demanded full frame it became apparent that it could have been slightly larger.</p

Optically, the problem can be solved by projecting a different image from the last optical element of the lens onto the resulting image sensor, BUT ... As it turns out with macro extension tube this is a problem, after all there is no Sony extension tubes to date. When using conventionally designed macro extension tubes, vignetting occurs for the reasons stated, with the corners of the image darker or completely black.

If you compare the standard tube for the Sony E you will see a regular tube with an inner circular hole. In order for the macro extension tube to go full format, the manufacturer must increase the diameter by 1mm according to a comparison of the two extension tubes. This of course is not sufficient hence the need for a corner cutout as seen in the illustration. Practically you can see that the macro extension tube is suitable for your fullframe Sony E camera.

However, if you are unsure, email us as you are used to, we will be happy to help you with your selection. Because besides mechanical compatibility, the compatibility of the actual electronics with your camera and lens is also important.
