After the successful Laowa 60mm f / 2.8 2: 1 macro lens, a new model, the Laowa 100mm f / 2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO, comes into the 2: 1 lens family. This model is already designed for cameras with a Full frame sensor, but can also be used for cameras with an APS-C size sensor.
Lens designs with low-scatter apochromatic elements have virtually completely eliminated aberration throughout the lens's focusing range.
The shortest focusing distance of the lens is 24.7 cm, here the lens has a magnification of 2: 1. As the focusing distance from the subject increases, the aspect ratio decreases. With the lens, you can focus without restriction to infinity, which makes it excellent for ordinary photography, especially portrait photography. The number of aperture blades varies according to the type of bayonet, 9 blades (Canon), 7 blades (Nikon), 13 blades (Sony FE), however, even a 7-blade aperture in the lens with a bayonet for Nikon, provides a beautiful and natural bokeh.
The Canon bayonet lens does not have an aperture ring, the aperture is adjusted directly on the camera body.
When using the lens on Canon cameras, it is necessary to disable peripheral lighting correction in the camera menu.
