Venus Optics offers the first photographers the opportunity to start in the world of wide-angle macro photography with the Laowa 15mm f / 4 Macro lens. Previously, it was necessary to combine a wide-angle lens with adapters or intermediate rings to use a similar lens, but now the Laowa 15mm Macro offers a 1: 1 display without the need to further adjust the lens and degrade its optical quality. The extra-wide view of full-frame cameras also allows users to get an extremely close view and, thanks to a minimum focusing distance of only 12 cm, interesting compositions, while you can complete the main subject with a wide background scene. Internal focusing is a benefit when working in detail with the lens, when the movement of the first member does not interfere with your work at the minimum focusing distance, which can be only 4.7 mm from the first member.
The Laowa 15mm f / 4 Macro lens is optically designed to minimize the distortion that plagues especially wide-angle lenses. Thanks to the use of an advanced design of 12 elements in 9 groups with one member of extremely low light scattering and three highly refractive members. Multilayer low-reflective layers further improve image quality by reducing glare and ghosting. Also when used on APS-C cameras or in crop modes, the lens offers +/- 6mm vertical shift, which can help correct perspective when shooting subjects such as buildings.
Lens with fully manually focus and aperture that is continuously variable 14 lamella in the range of f / 4 to f / 32. The large front ring with filter thread is designed with the filters in use without any problems. Laowa 15mm f / 4 Macro is extremely wide with an angle of view of 110 ° on APS-C SLRs, the lens provides an angle of view of 85 °, which corresponds to a focus of 24 mm.
The lens comes with a sun aperture.
