The first 2x life-size magnification manual focus, macro lens, specifically designed for micro four-thirds mounting, is the Laowa 50mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro Lens (VE5028MFT). Optimized for a number of Panasonic, Olympus and Blackmagic mirror-less MFT cameras. Just 1:1 magnification will replicate most of the MFT macro lenses on the market. But this 2X magnifying lens provides photographers with the benefit of a broader magnification range for different subject sizes.
An apochromatic (APO) architecture that helps to reduce chromatic aberration in areas of concentration and out of focus. This greatly increases the sharpness, transparency and color accuracy of pictures, making it much easier to post-edit.
Equipped with a chip and motor for the CPU (Auto aperture). The Laowa 50mm Ultra Macro chip-set enables you to monitor the aperture through the camera body. For example, for simpler control, the focus magnifier will automatically be activated when turning the focus ring. Furthermore, all the lens data can be documented on EXIF by the Processor.
The perfect choice for micro and outdoor photography is compact and lightweight (just 240g). The focal length is equal to around 100 mm equivalent (97.5 mm on a 1.5x crop sensor camera), which is a useful focal length for general macro and close-up photography, maintaining a reasonable working distance for the subject camera. The optical construction consists of 14 elements in 10 groups, with 3 elements of extra-low dispersion glass. In order to offer double life size magnification, the minimum focus distance is 17cm (sensor to subject). With a convenient, regular filter size of 52 mm, the dimensions are 57 mm diameter x 100 mm length
