Mobile studio - high performance

Powerful wireless radio-controlled flash Nissin MG80 NAS READY with "Master", "Slave" and "Comander" functions usable for mobile work with the camera outdoors, as well as for lighting in the studio.

Nissin Air System (NAS)
What is NAS?

NAS is a Nissin wireless radio system for controlling external flashes. It operates at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. Compared to a traditional optical system, a radio system is less prone to beam angle, lighting conditions, and obstacles between the controller and the slave flash.
The range of the Air10s control unit is 100 m and the Air1 unit 30 m. To prevent interference and erroneous firing by other users or devices operating on the same frequency, 8 working channels with IDs coding are available. The Nissin Air10s control unit can control 8 groups (A, B, C, D, Ȧ, Ḃ, Ċ, Ḋ). The Air1 unit can serve 3 slots (A, B, C).

Key properties:

  • Silicon lamp - Quartz
  • The cooling system
  • Built-in radio control unit
  • Removable magnetic ZOOM head
  • Powerful LED modeling light
  • Removable magnetic ZOOM head

The Nissin MG80 flash is equipped with an atomic magnetic ZOOM head. The head can be removed and the flash used without it. The flash head can be rotated 180 ° horizontally to the right and left in the horizontal direction, tilted upwards by an angle of up to 90 ° and downwards by an angle of 7 ° (for macro photography). The power of the lamp when used without the ZOOM head is GN28 (ISO 100 / m) / 82.5 Ws. Thanks to this equipment, the flash expands the possibilities when working with indirect flash and offers more options for different lighting angles.
The MG80 offers “A” auto zoom mode and manual zoom mode. The setting range is 24 mm, 28 mm, 35 mm, 50 mm, 70 mm, 85 mm, 105 mm, 135 mm and 200 mm.

Powerful LED modeling light

Powerful 8 W modeling LED light. Power can be set in 25 steps.

Charging - variable source

The MG80 flash is powered by 4 AA batteries with the possibility of using different types. An external PS8 source can be connected to the flash.
When using four Li-ion batteries (14,500) and an external PS8 power supply, the charging time is only 1.4 s. When using Li-ion, alkaline or rechargeable batteries alone, the charging time will be extended by approx. 4 s. flash full flash output.

OPEN mode

The MG80 supports the “OPEN” mode, a function for setting pairing. (* 2)
OPEN mode allows multiple controllers to share the same set of flashes.
This eliminates the need to re-pair the controller and flash group when using multiple cameras. The same flash settings can be used when changing the camera and continuing to shoot.
(* 2) Function supported by the Air10s control unit.

Independent control of 8 groups of flashes in slave mode

The MG80 supports 8 groups (* 2) of flashes in Slave and Master modes. 4 basic (A, B, C, D) and 4 advanced (Ȧ, Ḃ, Ċ, Ḋ) groups. The MG80 can be paired with a virtually infinite number of "Slave" units.
(* 2) Function supported by the Air10s control unit.

Applicable NAS control units:
The MG80 can be controlled using both the Air 10s and Air 1 control units.

  • TTL, M, Zoom, HSS.
  • Working channels: 1 - 8
  • Groups: A, B, C, D, Ȧ, Ḃ, Ċ,

TTL flash exposure compensation

Flash output can be adjusted by TTL flash exposure compensation. The camera's exposure compensation function affects the overall exposure of the image area. Flash exposure compensation adjusts the exposure for the main subject only, with minimal effect on the exposure of the background scene.
The flash output can be adjusted in the TTL mode from −2 to +2 EV, in 1/3 EV increments.

Ports for external services

  • Port for external source
  • The Nissin MG80 flash supports the Nissin PS 8 Power Pack.
  • Synchronization connector X (PC).
  • Micro SD slot (firmware update).

Firmware Update

Concerned that your flash will no longer be compatible with the launch of new camera models? A firmware update service is available for Nissin Speedlights.
The MG80 can be updated by the user.
