So far,anamorphic lenses have been used mainly in large film productions that had enough money to buy expensive lenses. But Sirui has taken the plunge and produced affordable anamorphic lenses for filmmakers of all categories and genres.

The Sirui 24mm f/2.8 1.33x anamorphic lens increases the horizontal FOV (field of view) by 33% compared to traditional 24mm APS-C lenses. Footage captured with this lens is displayed in a 2.4:1 anamorphic format in a 16:9 setting.
This high-luminosity f/2.8 lens features optics with multi-layer nano-coatings and the entire design is housed in a rugged aluminum housing.
The lensglass lenses are from renowned glass lens manufacturer Schott. The lenses are in a rectangular aspect ratio where they create a long horizontal backlight and oval bokeh.

One of the features of this lens is that it produces horizontal blue light streaks with less diffuse light, which Sirui calls sci-fi horizontal flares. A key aspect of anamorphic lenses is accentuated oval bokeh, and this lens with an 8-blade aperture produces shallow depth of field with the just-mentioned oval bokeh.
Although the lens gives a solid and sturdy impression it is designed to be good and easy to use in any situation.
