Ultra compact wide-angle in retro design with Leica M-mount.
The TTArtisan 28 mm f/5.6 is a visually very appealing and not everyday vintage lens, yet very light and compact. Its discreet appearance makes it ideal for use in street and/or people photography without being distracting or obtrusive. It will not only convince photographers of all generations because of the optics and the image look, but the modern construction, nostalgically packaged, does the rest.
At first you might think: only f/5.6 - but that is exactly the advantage. The depth of field, which is strong from the outset, makes handling in street photography so decisively easier and popular! The photographer does not have to keep an eye on the technique all the time, but concentrates on the impressions that are important to him.
From a purely technical point of view, we are talking about a mere 151 grams packed into a very attractive brass housing that is just 51 millimetres in diameter and only 19 millimetres long. Nevertheless, this small flyweight contains an impressive optical design of seven elements arranged in four groups. Among them are two elements with a high refractive index and one with low dispersion, which effectively suppress colour differences and keep spherical aberrations in check.
Depending on the application, it is practical that the lens also has a 37mm front filter thread. Another useful tool is a lever with which you can fix the infinity setting. This distance is often preselected, especially in street photography. With this fixation option, there can be no accidental adjustment when you are 'in action'.
The supplied lens hood is made of solid brass, matching the vintage look of the lens. The aperture and focus adjustment is manual.
