Detailed description of the functions of the Canon SPEEDLITE ST-E2 infrared wireless controller

E-TTL flash control II

The ST-E2 works with the E-TTL II flash metering system to ensure accurate and consistent wireless flash exposures in all situations. In difficult lighting conditions, it uses exposure compensation to provide greater control over light output.

Ratio control

Using the ratio control that the ST-E2 transmitter allows, you can control the light output ratio of the two groups of flashes to achieve creative results. Ratio control from 1: 8 to 8: 1 for two groups of Speedlites provides a wide range of settings.

High speed synchronization

High-speed sync allows you to sync the flash with shutter speeds that are faster than the camera's maximum sync speed. This allows you to shoot with a small aperture even in bright daylight, using faster basic lenses.

Control range

When used indoors, the ST-E2 transmitter provides a working range of 12 m to 15 m. When used outdoors, the range is 8 m to 10 m.

AF-assist illuminator

When shooting in low light, the ST-E2 can emit a focusing beam to ensure sharp results. This beam helps focus and covers all focus points of all EOS cameras.
