Nikon BR-3

The Nikon BR-3 adapter is designed to allow the use of filters when reversing the lens. The adapter is mounted on the lens bayonet and 52mm filters can be mounted on the other side.

Using the adapter, it is possible to use lenses on other brands of cameras (e.g.: Nikon lens on Canon EOS body) or threaded filters on lenses with bayonet.
They are relatively easy to achieve the desired goal and in some situations it is the only way to revive older equipment.
Because it is a purely mechanical element, however, it does not allow data transfer between the lens and the camera, autofocus or aperture transfer.
