The Nikon MB-D16 Multi Battery Power Pack for use with all Nikon digital cameras that list the MB-D16 as a compatible accessory in their manual. The MB-D16 holds one Nikon EN-EL15 rechargeable lithium-ion battery or the equivalent of EN-EL15 or six AA batteries (alkaline, nickel-metal hydride or lithium). The MB-D16 Multi-Function Battery Power Pack is equipped with its own shutter release button, AE-L / AF-L button, multi-selector, and main and sub-command dials for portrait shooting. The camera menu allows the user to select the priority of using the camera's battery or the batteries in the MB-D16.

The battery grip is supplied without batteries.

Information on using the Nikon MB-D16 battery grip

  • Battery Pack MB-D16 is for use only with compatible cameras.
  • Do not use it with batteries and battery holders that are not recommended in this manual.
  • When you are not using the MB-D16, replace the contact cover to prevent an electrical short circuit that could cause these contacts and metal objects to come in contact with each other.

Battery grip controls MB-D16

The MB-D16 is equipped with a shutter button (13.), multi-selector (7.), main command dial (6.), sub-command dial (15.), and button

EN-EL15 battery

The performance of EN-EL15 batteries decreases in temperatures below 10 ° C. Make sure

the battery is fully charged and have a spare battery available if necessary. After heating, the battery can regain part of its original capacity.

AA batteries

Due to their limited capacity, AA alkaline batteries should only be used if there is no other option. The capacity of AA batteries depends on the type of batteries and storage conditions and can be extremely low in some cases; under certain circumstances, the capacity of AA batteries may suddenly drop and the batteries may stop working before they reach the end of their life.
