Reliable autofocus for fantastic action shots - The camera's innovative autofocus quickly and reliably detects the position of the subject, then tracks its movement and maintains its precise focus.

425 AF points with phase detection - Densely scattered focus points cover approximately 84% of the image area and help capture the subject.

Autofocus speed 0.02 s - The camera's fast hybrid autofocus system combines the best features of autofocus with phase detection and autofocus with contrast detection.

Continuous tracking capability - As subjects move, a dense network of autofocus points around the subject is activated to provide accurate tracking.

4D FOCUS - Classic autofocus (AF) takes space into account only. When shooting requires peace of mind, such as during a performance, quiet shooting without shutter sound allows you to shoot at speeds of up to 8 fps with AF / AE tracking, even in AF-C mode, real-time autofocus or tracking in real time, which photography brings new possibilities.

Smart object tracking - The newly used technology of object recognition using artificial intelligence can recognize and track even fast-moving objects by processing a huge amount of data.

Sophisticated eye recognition and tracking

Accurate eye recognition - Enhanced real-time autofocus on the eyes reliably detects the human face and focuses precisely on the eyes. No special settings required - just press the shutter button.

Continuous eye tracking - When AF-C mode is selected, autofocus maintains stable real-time focus even if part of the face is obscured when it is backlit or the subject is facing down.

Select the left or right eye of the subject - You can now preselect the Left Eye, Right Eye, or Auto option from the menu in advance so you can focus more on the composition. You can assign a selection to your own buttons so you can quickly switch between options while taking pictures.

Constant monitoring of the eyes of moving objects

Real-time tracking reliably maintains focus - For sporting events where objects move fast, constantly focusing can make a key difference in whether you capture an important dramatic moment or not.

Objects in motion are captured by an object recognition algorithm - The newly developed object recognition algorithm processes spatial information through color, object distance (depth), structure (brightness) and face and eye information - all at high speed in real time.

Smooth body-to-face transitions and eye tracking - When shooting a moving person in the distance, the tracking system captures the entire body, with the focus area moving smoothly between face and eyes depending on the position of the subject.

Activate single-touch tracking - After setting up Touch Tracking in the menu, simply touch the monitor to select an object. When you take photos or shoot movies, the camera starts tracking the subject automatically.

Enjoy beautiful and remarkably detailed images - Thanks to the large sensor and the latest image processor, you can shoot anything that you come across in everyday life, with a sharp and clear image and natural colors - even in poor lighting conditions. 

24.2MP sensor and improved image processor - The APS-C format sensor is equipped with copper windings and improved circuits that increase the efficiency of light capture. In combination with the image processor used, excellent image resolution and a more natural display of structures can be achieved.

Clear images even in low light - Improved noise reduction means better images even in low light, which requires high-sensitivity shooting. Native ISO sensitivity has been increased to a maximum of ISO 32000 (with extended ISO sensitivity with a maximum value of ISO 102400 for photographs). Noise reduction is especially effective with frequently used medium to high sensitivity settings.

Natural-looking images that match reality - Image processing algorithms taken from Full-Frame cameras have delivered more faithful color reproduction. Skin tones look more natural and plant color reproduction has also been improved.

4K movies and professional features 

Production of creative films - The α6400 is packed with advanced features to boost your creativity - from full pixel reading without pixel binning for 4K high definition video recording to HDR (HLG), S-Log / S-Gamut settings and slow and fast recording .

4K high definition recording - Super 35mm recording with 2.4x resampling ensures the resulting 4K movies (QFHD: 3840 x 2160) with exceptional image quality.

Fast hybrid autofocus for videos - With high-performance autofocus tracking, you have smooth and stable focus under full control.

S-Log and HLG settings - The camera offers a wide range of image profile options, including S-Log and HDR (HLG) settings

Make time-lapse movies - The new interval shooting, which hides continuous shooting with an interval adjustable from 1 to 60 seconds between each photo, is available directly in the camera. You can later use this computer to create time-lapse movies from these images in the Viewer, which is part of the Imaging Edge computer applications.

Useful features for blogs - If you're shooting blogs, the 180-degree tilt screen makes it easy to compose shots. In addition to the external microphone connector, an XLR adapter (available separately) is available for audio recording, which allows the use of professional microphones for better sound quality.

Take advantage of various movie shooting features - Slow-motion (up to 5x) and fast-motion (up to 60x) shots can be recorded directly in the camera without the need for further processing on a computer. With fast 120fps shooting, you can create a slow-motion recording in Full HD during post-production. Proxy recording allows for easier editing and previewing, while Photo Capture allows you to extract photos from recordings.

High resolution LCD display with useful touch functions - The 180-inch tilt 180-degree LCD does more than just show the scene in front of you - offering quick use of many camera functions and a range of intuitive touch controls. 

Touch Pad: easy focus area selection - With the Touch Pad, you can easily move the current focus position while looking through the viewfinder. Just swipe across the screen until you reach the point you want to focus on

Touch Focus and Touch Shutter - Touch the screen to move the focus to the edge of the screen with Touch Focus. With the Touch Shutter function, you can adjust the focus and activate the shutter with a single touch.

Touch Tracking turns on real-time tracking - With Touch Tracking, you can activate real-time tracking by simply touching the screen when taking photos or recording. The camera immediately focuses on the target subject and maintains constant focus. 

Adjust the camera to your liking

The large number of adjustable functions taken from Full-Frame cameras means greater flexibility and control over camera control.

With adjustable buttons, you have functions at your fingertips - All eight buttons and controls can be assigned any of the 89 functions. Each function depends on whether you are taking photos, shooting videos, or using playback mode. 

With My Menu and My Dial, you're in control - With My Dial, you can assign favorite features to the controller and control wheel for faster access when shooting. My Menu allows you to select up to the 30 most used menu items that you need quick access to.

Visualizing the Customization Settings Screen - The Custom Settings screen provides an illustration of the camera's controls that show which button or switch are you allocating. When setting the function menu, you can display the structure of the actual screen with a list of functions.
