AF (autofocus) with phase detection for E bayonet focusing on SSM and SAM with A bayonet
The newly designed LA-EA5 Adapter allows the use of A-mount lenses (an older type of Sony bayonet, adopted with the Minolta Dynax system) and SSM motor (Super Sonic wawe Motor) or SAM (Smooth Autofocus Motor) along with the latest E-mount cameras, plus full support for phase-detection AF in the focal plane over a wide area, including object recognition such as real-time autofocus on eyes, real-time tracking and more.
AF/AE tracking up to 11 fps for SSM and SAM lenses
When using the LA-EA5 Adapter with the latest Sony E-mount cameras, this innovative adapter allows you to take advantage of AF/AE tracking on A-mount SSM and SAM lenses, even when shooting continuously up to 11 fps.
Precise AF and AF/AE tracking on SSM, SAM and motorless lenses
The Sony LA-EA5 adapter supports all A-mount lenses, including lenses without internal motors such as the Sonnar T* 135mm f/1.8 ZA and the Planar T* 85mm f/1.4 ZA, a favorite among professionals. The Sony LA-EA5 adapter fully supports auto focus with phase detection in the focal plane, real-time auto focus on the eye, real-time tracking and continuous AF/AE tracking at up to 11 frames per second.
Compact Design and Convenient Operation
New autofocus and aperture adapters are included in the elegant and powerful Sony LA-EA5 bayonet adapter. The adapter conforms to the diameter of the A bayonet, so when used on a compact camera body with an E bayonet, nothing protrudes from the bottom of the bayonet, ensuring a comfortable hold and use even when positioning the camera with a vertical grip.
