UV Filters - Filter Size - 30.5 mm
"UV filters were indispensable, especially in the days of film photography, because film was very sensitive to ultraviolet light. Photographers who did not use UV filters often had their images spoiled by blue haze, especially on sunny days, near water or snow, or in the mountains. For this reason, ultraviolet filters were referred to as " haze filters".
Today's digital sensors can handle UV without filtering it, don't let them convince you otherwise. Today, UV filters serve primarily as mechanical protection for the front of the lens and many photographers have this filter permanently mounted on their lens.
